ADHD Testing
Alongside traditional subjective information used for ADHD diagnosis, we have added an innovative clinical test that objectively measures the three core symptoms: inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity.
Revolutionizing ADHD Testing at Granite State Behavioral Health
At Granite State Behavioral Health, we’re changing the way ADHD is diagnosed and treated. While traditional methods like clinical interviews and rating scales have long been the standard, we’ve taken ADHD testing to the next level with an innovative, FDA-approved, objective assessment that provides clear, measurable data. Our cutting-edge 15-20 minute computer-based evaluation uses motion tracking technology to assess the three core symptoms of ADHD: inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity.
What Sets Our ADHD Testing Apart?
Our ADHD testing is not only quick and accurate but is backed by over 20 years of research and 35 clinical studies. This objective approach gives us a more precise understanding of each patient’s symptoms, enhancing traditional diagnostic methods. It’s designed for individuals aged 6 to 60, ensuring that everyone, regardless of age, can benefit from this scientifically-backed tool.

This objective assessment provides more than just a diagnosis—it empowers us to create personalized treatment strategies that work for you. With earlier detection, we can intervene sooner, improving outcomes and quality of life. Whether you're struggling with ADHD yourself or concerned about a loved one, our testing allows for a more comprehensive and accurate diagnosis.
Current ADHD Diagnostic Tools vs. Our Approach
Traditional ADHD diagnostic tools like clinical interviews, behavior rating scales (e.g., Conners or Vanderbilt), and behavioral checklists provide valuable insights but can be subjective. These methods depend on reports from parents, teachers, and clinicians, often leaving room for interpretation. That’s where our computer-based, objective test stands out.

Our test enhances traditional methods by measuring attention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity with data that is scientifically sound and easily comparable to a control group of individuals without ADHD. This results in a more thorough and reliable assessment of ADHD, giving both patients and healthcare providers confidence in the diagnosis and treatment plan.
How Is the Test Performed?
The test is simple and engaging. Patients participate in an attention-based task where they press a button whenever a specific shape and color appear in sequence on a computer screen. The infrared camera tracks movements via a reflective marker placed on the patient's head, providing real-time data on attention, impulsivity, and reaction time.

This data is compared to a normative group of individuals of the same age and sex who do not have ADHD. Results are instantly generated and presented in a detailed report, making it easier for providers to make accurate diagnostic decisions. This method also enables us to measure how well a patient is responding to treatment, offering a clear view of progress over time.
